Our History
The original Bruno's Pet Store (in Kingsthorpe) is the longest running pet shop in Northampton, it has been a pet shop for over 40 years, and has provided the solid base for the current Bruno's businesses.
Bruno's now run a traditional pet store in Kingsthorpe, Billing, and Whilton Locks, plus a wholesale business which supplies garden centres, web sites & pet shops with goods that we import.
The largest Bruno's is located within Whilton Locks Garden Village. This is a fantastic 5 acre site that contains like-minded businesses. The large area of the pet store here enables us to have the feel of a “super centre” without forgetting the feel of a traditional pet shop .We have one of the largest displays of cages and animal housing in the country enabling you to see the product “in the flesh”. Although parrots breed seasonally we always have a variety of hand reared babies in the range, many which we have bred & hand reared ourselves ,they range from hand reared budgies to hand reared Macaws & cockatoos. We have many other animals to look at including reptiles like snakes, rankins dragons, lizards, several types of tortoise, frogs, uromastyxs, Tarantulas; birds, such as ducks, chickens, doves, finches, parakeets & small furry things like chinchillas, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, syrian hamsters, many types of dwarf hamsters, mice, degus, ferrets and many more. Because we look after all our birds & pets, we always have experienced staff here to answer any queries you may have, and whilst being open 7 days, we are always available to provide you & your new pet any assistance in that settling in period.
Brunos Aquatics has in excess of 65 display tanks housing coldwater and tropical fish from all over the world. They also keep a large range of aquatic goods from goldfish starter kits to custom built marine aquaria & everything aquatic in-between !
To top off an interesting & exciting visit you could call in at the Canalside Restaurant. This is a 100 seater restaurant that is warm & welcoming where you can get an all day breakfast, hot meals, cakes, puddings & lots of other homemade goodies – or simply have a cream tea whilst watching the narrow boats make their way along the Grand Union Canal.
